Sr. Network Consulting Engineer, supporting Cisco Systems in the AT&T Middletown Digital Services Lab.

Major responsibility is to test and certify CTC Rel. 9.6 product line, which includes 80WXC-card, 100G family cards, AR-XPE/MXP cards and their feature by different chassis type (M12, M6, M2) on UVN test network.

Responsibility including:

-           Created test plans, test cases and test procedures of ONS15454 MSTP product related to CTC Rel 9.6, 100G family cards,80WXC card, MAL-Less and AR-XPE/MXP, etc.  to verify that products being developed by function as per the requirements written by the Systems Engineering team

-           Designed GM and UVN (40ch & 80Ch)Test Network (Up to 4 degree ROADM) by using CTP Rel 9.4

-           Turned up ONS15454MSTP Shelves (M12,M6,M2) , cards population, ANS setup and provision all types of cards including , MAL-Less amplifiers, 80WXC, SMR family cards, 100G family cards, AR-XPE/MXP,MUX/DEMUX cards, MD-40 Even&ODD, MESH-PP-80, DCU and other related NEs.

-           Created and tested OCHNCC, OCHCC, OCHCC Trail circuits, Patch chord creation, Y-Cable and splitter protection scheme,  turned up OSC channels, troubleshooting alarms

-           Opened and follow up TAC cases with cisco overseas engineering team if any issue found in the hardware/software features of CTC Release 9.6

-          Executed test cases for products like , MAL-Less amplifiers (EDFA-17,EDFA-24), 80-WXC card, 100G family Cards (100G, trunk, 10X10, 100G CFP), AR-XPE/MXP, find SWbugs, worked with engineering to fix issues. Involved in the planning, developing and implementing custom test plans for DWDM optical transport network system based on ONS15454 MSTP platform. This involved working with the architecture/design team, analyzing new solution requirements, writing test plans, building test lab configurations, executing customer profile testing, and documenting results.
 

Perform master and detailed core planning and optimization of the optical backbone based on Cisco ONS15454 MSTP platform supporting up to 40G transponder payload

Worked as a technical Lead for the project, my job responsibilities were to identify, assess and develop detailed requirements for building a Cisco Powered SONET based Optical Network for PATH (a subsidiary

Organization of PA), that included the POP engineering, rack elevation, ONS gear 15454, 15327 installation, and configuration and turn up. Layer 2/3 switching installation and configuration that includes Cisco 2955, Cisco 2924, Cisco 3550, Cisco 4500 Series and Cisco 6513 Switch. Configuration of VLANs for hub and remote sites; Configuration of Layer 3 Switches for OSPF routing protocols, software & firmware upgrades

 

Other responsibilities including to run and manage the brand new Optical NOC that including Tier 3 support of SONET network, resolve day to day issues, opening and follow up the TAC cases, managed & coordinate network installations, upgrades, circuit consolidation & re-engineering and provisioning for new and existing network nodes.
 

Configuring Shared Packet Ring and Resilient Packet ring and populated with IP and Video Services, across the PATH station and Sub Stations, that’s includes the technologies like HSRP, PVST, Vlan, 802.1q Trunking, Port Security, Multicasting, Layer 3 switching and QoS.

As a technical lead, worked on JFK Airport, (one of the site of PA) to completely redesigned this ATM site, tasks included, high level POP engineering, rack elevations, visio and documentation, IOS and CAT OS upgrades, installing and configuring Cisco high end routers and switches, Cisco 7200, Catalyst 4000 switches, adding VLAN and assign ports, reconfigure IGX 8000, provisioned DS3 trunk migrating the existing DS3 trunks from OLD IGX 8000 to this new site and other project related issues.

Client: Bear Stearns Inc.

Lead the “Network Implementation Project” that includes the migration of Network portions of Bear Stern’s. The Project was to replace the existing Nortel Access routers with Cisco 6509. I was involved in the all phase of project that includes planning, designing, configuration, integration and Cut Over. Job responsibilities includes router configuration, open and follow up work orders in Remedy, co-ordinate with other team members to schedule a cut over and finally physically supervised the afterhours cut over process.

Client: ACS State and Local Solution
Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, work with vendors to resolve the day to day network issues, and complete router and switch maintenance and code upgrades as required; act as a technical escalation point for the NOC regarding all backbone and routing and switching related issues; ensure the timely resolution of all outages and customer issues by tracking the trouble tickets opened by the NOC and providing guidance. Other responsibilities include maintaining a large national backbone interconnecting over 100’s of Points of Presence, router configuration, sites rollover, upgrades and maintenance.

Worked actively on the migration of Frame-Relay to Frame/ATM project. Task included preparation of Action Plan, port assignment, IOS upgrades, router and switches configuration, PVC creation, co-ordinate with vendors to rip off the old PVCs, live cut-over, schedule tech to installation of hardware, documentation, Visio and other project related issues.
